Using software or an app to track Calories & Workouts

I have been using “MyFitnessPal” for a couple months to track my diet, workouts, and measurements. I really like the app (android phone) and the website. The data is great, but I don’t know if I like it because I love data, or if I like it because it helps me remember. Do most people use some form of tracking (even pen& paper) or is that more of a geek thing? If you do use a similar program, has it helped? In my case, when I realized what I was eating each day, I was able to significantly improve my diet. For those who don’t track, is it because you don’t see the purpose in it, because you don’t like it, or because it didn’t help you? What do you do instead?
Thanks,
James

I use MFP, and I love it.

I’ve used Weight Watchers, Spark People & My Fitness Pal. I am currently using MFP & although I like it they all pretty much run the same.

As for keeping track, if you’re doing any sort of weght loss plan, tracking your food is one of the first things recommended. This makes you accountable & aware of what you’re actually consuming.
