Top 10 Played Songs

Here’s my list from my iTunes. I used to do cds in the car so this is really just a list since September when I got my laptop and iPod…

  1. Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff (Nero Remix) - Deadmau5
  2. Animal - Neon Trees
  3. Awake My Soul - Mumford & Sons

  7. Double Dutch Queens - Nathan Johnson & The Cinematic Underground (Brother’s Bloom Soundtrack)
  8. Roll Away Your Stone - Mumford & Sons
  9. Tree of Life - Clint Mansell
  10. Gumption - Hans Zimmer

{Also to note, I just got all of the Doctor Who Season 5, BSG and How to Train Your Dragon so those have pretty much been on repeat lately but with numbers in the 400 and 100s, they just haven’t gotten up there yet!}

On my ipod

1 C’est la mort - The Civil Wars
2 Poison & Wine- The Civil Wars
3 My Father’s Father- The Civil Wars
4 To Whom It May Concern- The Civil Wars
5 20 years- The Civil Wars
6 I’ve got this Friend- The Civil Wars
7 Girll with the Red Balloon- The Civil Wars
8 Falling- The Civil Wars
9 Gravity - Sara Bareilles
10 Birds of a Feather - The Civil Wars

Not a surprise, I’ve been mainlining The Civil Wars lately.

On iTunes, it’s exactly the same, which is a bit surprising, I expected at lleast one classical & probly one from Snow Patrol or a soundtrack in the top 10.

I listened to two songs of theirs based on your listening habits. I challenge you to write a blog post to introduce the community to this amazing band.

one of my favs as well, I get of kick out of singing “four sweater vests”…

On ipod & Iphone

Aisha-Death In Vegas
Dakota-Stereophonics
More Than This-Roxy Music
To Every Captive Soul-Hannibal Soundtrack
Passacaglia-Battlestar Galactica S1
The Shape Of Things To Come-BSG s1
Torn-Natalie Imbruglia
Sympathy For The Devil-Guns & Roses
Slave To Love-Bryan Ferry
Last Train To Trancentral-the KLF

What an eclectic mix.

Gaf…

I listened to that song so many times back in highschool, now I don’t dare to listen through half of it.

In the interests of full disclosure here are the top 10 played songs on both my laptop iTunes and the iTunes on my main desktop at home. Surprisingly the lists were remarkably the same thanks to a “Workout” Playlist I used for years. So without further adieu, my top ten actually played songs are:

  1. (1) 1985 - Bowling for Soup
  2. (2) Life Is a highway - Rascal Flatts (Cars Soundtrack)
  3. (3) MmmBop - Hanson
  4. (4) Boston - Augustana
  5. (5) Sweet Emotion - Aerosmith (Armageddon Soundtrack)
  6. (8) Hope - Shaggy (Learned to like it from the movie For Love Of The Game)
  7. (6) How Far We’ve Come - Matchbox Twenty (From The History Channel)
  8. (7) All Summer Long - The Rock Heroes
  9. (9) Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd
  10. (10) Jump - Van Halen

And while I still like these songs, I still stand by my top 10 songs I listed above.

~Shooter Out

First, I periodically reset my play count in itunes so that I don’t get that issue. I like to look at how my top lists change over time.

Second, for my birthday 2 weeks ago I went to an epic Mumford and Sons concert. They played Merriweather Post Pavilion (namesake of the Animal Collective album), which is a great amphitheater in Maryland. It’s located in a somewhat rural area between Baltimore and DC and the grounds are full of trees. It’s almost rustic.

There was a terrific thunderstorm. All three of our umbrellas were destroyed by wind. The beer garden tent blew away. Then it started hailing. People stayed because the shows are rain-or-shine as long as it’s safe to perform. Plus, Mumford and Sons has sold out every single show this year.

The rain stopped about 30 minutes before they went on. We were sopping wet but had managed to hide our phones and the blanket under my friend’s plastic poncho so all was well. They played an absolutely amazing show, including about 4 new songs that have me convinced that the follow up album is going to be in the same quality range as Sigh No More. Ugh, I can’t even tell you how great this show was. Probably the 4th best show I’ve ever seen.

Shooter, this list is amazing.

I should probably take the count reset advice. From mid-November to New Year’s, I play nothing but Christmas music, all day, every day, the same playlist (of >100 songs on a continuous loop), and when I looked at my iTunes Top 25 list, several Christmas songs were still on it. If I take those out, I get:

  1. Real Gone - Sheryl Crow (Cars soundtrack)
  2. Love Song - Sara Bareilles
  3. Settlin’ - Sugarland
  4. Mysterious Ways - U2
  5. Lola’s Theme - Shape:UK (aka Shapeshifters in the U.K.)
  6. Incredible - Shape:UK
  7. Girls Just Want to Have Fun - Cyndi Lauper
  8. Deep End - Newsboys
  9. Whatever Gets You Through Today - The Radios
  10. Ruby Blue - Roisin Murphy

Let the analysis begin!

Did I say Natalie is the Hawtness???

David Armand is a genius.

Here’s my Top 10:

1 - Ludovico Einaudi – Calm (Calmo)
2 - Ludovico Einaudi – Indaco
3 - Ever – Lay Down
4 - Dustin O’Halloran – Prelude 2 (Ad Version)
5 - Ludovico Einaudi – The Crane Dance
6 - Ludovico Einaudi – In Principio
7 - Dustin O’Halloran – Opus 26
8 - Ludovico Einaudi – Eros
9 - Ludovico Einaudi – Ascolta
10 - SPC ECO – Spotlight

My list is a bit skewed because I listen to the calmer stuff to help me sleep at night but still, Einaudi is my favourite composer/artist so it’s all good
