This book was the start of the his Riverworld series. Frakkintalos suggested this one and I agree. It’s a great read and it would be good to honor his passing with a group read of one of his many works.
It’s a good book, but it’s definitely a “First Chapter” kind of book.
What does that mean? You mean you get the entire book from the first chapter, or you mean that you don’t get past the first chapter.
I don’t read a lot (obviously)
It was a ‘first chapter’ book, in that it set up questions that were only answered later.
So, not the best standalone book…
True, but for readers new to Farmer’s writing it would be a good introduction and they could then decide to read more on their own later.
I liked these books. You can’t go wrong with a reincarnated Mark Twain.
