Sooo lets see if I can get this right. We Advance our tech far enough to leave Erf, for whateva reason we scout the stars (I wonder how long that took), colonize another rock-Kobal. Leave it for some reason then split up into 13 colonies (12 colonies + 1 cyclon colony) (Im am catagorizing the cylons as a colony because they seem to have been established enough to find thier way back to Erf, set up a civilization then blow it all to frak). The 12 fight amongst themselve s then eventually learn to work together, a lost group of cylons nuke the 12 (lost because they have no knowledge of thier ancestors). then backtrack all the way to Erf participating in a grand pissing match between themselves. Only to return to Erf, a pale shadow of its former self. Nuked once again, except this time its hot cylon on cylon holocaust action.

pretty good. only thing is i dont think we got anything that would make think that humanity started on earth. i still think they started on kobol. but other then that, you got it. but they sure have been vague as to exactly when all this happened. 2000-4000 years… well RDM says the timeline will make sense by the end. i wonder how much he’s not telling us…

From the Battlestar Wiki (BCH stands for “Before Cylon holocaust” in other words before the Mini-series):

Over 17,000 years BCH: A supernova creates the Ionian nebula

ca. 4,000 years BCH: The Thirteenth Tribe, a group of earlier generation Cylons, reportedly leaves Kobol and builds the Temple of Five on another planet

ca. 3,000 years BCH: A beacon is left at the Lion’s Head Nebula, later marking the way to Earth. At some undated point, someone travels from Earth to Kobol, passing on information about Earth, including a map of its night sky

ca. 3,600 years BCH: Pythia records her prophecies. Aside from reports of Earth, this book describes “the exile and rebirth of the human race” and a “dying leader” not making it to a “promised land.” though how long before her writings that such events took place is not revealed.

ca. 2,000 years BCH:
[INDENT]The remaining Twelve Tribes leave Kobol
Earth is left a nuclear wasteland. Copies of the Final Five die in a nuclear attack, though they have plans to be “born again.” [/INDENT]
2,000 years to 52 years BCH: The Twelve Colonies grow and prosper. Each colony acts as a sovereign nation, complete with inter-colonial wars

You’re assuming humans originated on Earth. That may be what science says, but the show has never said anything of the sort.
