Who are your top three favorite male actors, and your favorite role they have played?

Donald Sutherland … Oddball … Kelly’s Heroes 1970
Anson Williams … Potsy … Happy Days (TV)
Fozzy Bear … self … The Muppets Take Manhattan 1984

William Shatner…Captain James T. Kirk…Star Trek
Peter Sellers…Dr. Strangelove…Dr. Strangelove
Jim Caviezel…The Count of Monte Cristo…Edmond Dantes

Mine are:

-Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard
-Gary Oldman as Dracula
-Denzel Washington as John Creasy

Honorable mention to Tom Cruise as Lestat, but he’s kept off the list because he’s not one of my favorite actors (just one of my favorite performances).

  1. Nathan Fillion - Capt. Malcom Reynolds - Firefly
  2. Harrison Ford - Indiana Jones - Indiana Jones trilogy. (I don’t count the new one. He may have been great in it, but the movie was so horrible, I can’t be sure. This was a close race with Han Solo, but I like Indy just a little more.)
  3. Michael Fassbender - Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto - X-Men First Class

EDIT: How the hell did I forget David Tennant as the 10th Doctor? Not sure where he’d fit, or if he’d edge out any of these guys, but he at least deserves a mention.

  1. Jack Klugman: He was in four episodes of the original Twilight Zone (he was frakking amazing!!), Quincy ME (TV series), Oscar Madison in The Odd Couple TV series, Outer Limits (TV), and the original [b]Twelve Angry Men /b.

  2. Sean Connery: He was the original and probably the best James Bond for decades. Henry Jones (Indie’s Father), Allan Quatermain (League of Extraordinary Gentlemen), William Forrester (Finding Forrester)love this movie)

  3. Jose Ferrer: He was my first and quite possibly favorite Cyrano De Bergerac, Lt Greenwald in The Caine Mutiny, and yes… he was the Emperor in that awful Dune film…

(behind Jose I would probably choose Alan Rickman…)

I enjoyed Fassbender as Erik Lehnsherr, but I’ve only seen him in that role and in Band of Brothers, so his repitoir that I’ve viewed is rather limited.

I’d like to add Jack Lemmon. He is one of the greatest to ever grace the screen. He is also one of the greatest human beings to walk this planet. It is so difficult to pick one favorite role for Jack since they are so numerous. I would have to go with Joe Clay in ‘Days of Wine and Roses’, an absolutely incredible performance.

absolutely. The Apartment is our favorite film … take the time … if you have the time.
