Those Lovely Canadians--BSG on SPACE

I just recently discovered the website for SPACE, the channel that airs BSG in Canada. I was surprised how much fun, different BSG content they have, and very impressed that almost all of it is available to non-Canadian viewers (sadly, not Battlestar Awesomestar, whatever that is–if there are any Canadians who would watch that one and give a recap, I’d greatly appreciate it ;).

Anyway, if you haven’t checked it out before, I highly recommend it, especially if you’re like me and need a bit of cheering up because of the show being so dark and being so close to done. There’s a great little bit with Michael Hogan at the prop auction; it turns out there’s a good reason why people always punch the phone in CIC when they hang it up. “SPACE’s Favourite Moments with BSG” is really fun, too: watch as Tahmoh Penikett and Jamie Bamber get lost on their own set, EJO tells everyone not to watch the show, many, many times, Alessandro Juliani shows off his original Cylon action figure (hee, such a lovely geek), James Callis is generally hilarious, Nicki Clyne plays Peter Pan, and Katee Sackhoff and Grace Park discuss the best way to improve BSG’s ratings (it involves mud wrestling). There are a few other cute little featurettes, available here: http://watch.spacecast.com/the-circuit/current/january-2009/#clip131000. Most of the clips are under “The Circuit” and “Current”–just scroll through a bit.

I never trusted the beady-eyed head-flappers…

I think I’m missing the joke, Pike. Did I make a typo?

It’s a South Park reference (the movie, specifically.)

(In the South Park 'verse, Canadians are depicted with beady eyes and immobile lower jaws. The “Blame Canada” song references that.)

Ah, thanks. I’ve heard the song but still haven’t seen the movie (I know, I fail–please don’t revoke my geek card!)

has anyone found the canadian Space promo for islanded in a stream of stars yet? any reason why they always find there way to the internet so much later than the scifi ones?

It’s not out yet. They always appear later because, apparently, there’s only one Canadian source that seems to “smuggle” the promos out to youtube users pennyfeline and SevorTB, and it takes that person awhile to get them out. Why it’s that way, I’ve got no clue.

Canadians are gods gift to men…

There was no preview on Space for the next episode.

Thanks for the link Kappa.

I thought that would be Tricia Helfer & Grace Park :stuck_out_tongue:

uh, Tricia Helfer IS Canadian!

It’s because it is so damned cold up here that the internet lines are frozen, hence sluggish data transfer rates and upload delays. :stuck_out_tongue:
