I love how darn friendly folks are here. I’ve been battered around on enough other forums to recognize that this group is a bunch of hoopy froods who really know where their towels are.
I love that if I ignore everyone for a month and deal with my own crap, when I come back, no one cares and they just give me bum hugs and chat like it was only yesterday!
I love the people of the forum. The Hivemind has been a more useful resource than over places on the interwebs. I also like that I can post my animation project and I get feedback that actually helps me out.

I love that I can talk about everything from Fringe and Doctor Who to recipes to workouts to politics to sexy ladies.
I love that I’ve made friends with people in their 40s and their 50s and their teens, whose interests and career paths vary as widely as you can imagine (well, do we have any professional farmers? Perhaps only almost as much variety as I can imagine), from different countries and different religions and different tastes in music.
I love that Samantha has gone from half-jokingly calling herself a GWC widow to getting involved in the community and planning to come with me to the 2013 meetup.
I love that this community has inspired me to try so many new things!

A support group for Geeks.
Having a bad day? Let it out, vent. You will feel better, and you will get kind comments and support from the community. Got a hobby you are proud of? Post about it, show pictures of your projects. Not only will you feel better about sharing but we all will benefit as well. Want to get in shape and need some support and encouragement? Look no further than the forums, GO WOLVERINES!
Three:
A creative outlet.
Photoshop contests, Fantasy Science Fiction League contests. Creative Writing Workshops, NanoWrimo support threads. You have a story just bursting to get out? Post it and get feedback. Filking lyrics? Post them. RPG threads, gaming threads. Want to write your own screenplays? Write them out and get feedback… Or if infinitely bored write your own feedback! (looking at you Talos… :D)

Geeks with Benefits. (no, not in that way(get your mind out of the gutter))
For those lucky enough you can meet these fine folks in real life and add another dimension to the relationship you formed here. Form bonds and create friendships with others that share your passions and interests. Fellowship, party and revel in your Geekdom.
