things that makes you go insane with rage!!!

me?..inadequate autosaves

i know…i know…i am suppose to save myself often

but this is 2010, damn it!!..the games should protect me from my own laziness!

so i am playing dragon age…i am leaving camp to go to the mage’s tower…having learn of leliana’s past…and got my ass handed to me in an ambush…no biggie…i will be better prepared next time…

only to realize i must redo a good part of the redcliffe quest because of the save point!!!

i already beat this!!!..bullshit!

so…what makes you go insane in rage?

p.s. i have not played in 3 days, i am so pissed

Wire Hangers!!!

lollllll…yes…bad

but i meant in games

Prima (or what have you guides) that are inadequate. Why didn’t a guide I paid for tell me how to achieve the perfect ending!? That and the planetary database was lacking.

If we include MMOs, I could go on for ages. Frakkin’ griefers!! Don’t mess up my play time for your enjoyment!!

Timed missions - I like to take my time and explore everywhere

Escort missions - The character you escort is generally completely incompetent and walks straight into enemy fire.

Timed escort missions - I really hate them

well considering my signature

will put it up here cause i tend to change my signature every time they say something clever on better off Ted

Grrrrrr your selfless compassion fills me with murder frenzy
Zero punctuation

Anyone that uses the phrase, “That isn’t my job”.

Console games that are just ported over for the PC, with no additional levels or graphical boosts or improved sound. Whats the point?

PC games should make use of the extra memory, GPU’s and sound cards. Add new quests and maps, dialog options and treasure… etc. Make it better than the original otherwise… why bother making it at all?

Lazy… just plain lazy. I fell for the HALO 2 PC version ripoff, I was pissed! It was so flat and bland looking, the graphics were embarrassingly awful. I bought it because there were virtually NO VISTA games available at that time, and I wanted something to show off my newly rebuilt computer. I was so disgusted with the lousy graphics I threw the game away after just a couple of levels. GUN was even worse, and it was so dumbed down RPGwise I couldn’t stand it.

I hear you.

I want to buy a play Force Unleashed for the PC (PS3 port), but there’s so much negativity by way of word of mouth about the game that I’m hesitant. I heard a recent patch supposedly makes it better, but not by much.

It started out at $37 and now at $30ish, but I suppose I’ll wait until it’s $10-15.

Also, improvements for Final Fantasy XI Online were held back due to SE, the developer, wanting to keep the PC and PS2 versions and experience the same. It came out in the US in 2003 and still uses Direct X 8 which was great back then, but looks horrid today. The community developed 3rd party hacks to improve the graphics on the PC after the Xbox version was released. The Xbox version has better graphics than the PS2 version. However, players will be banned if they are caught using the hacks.

I was shocked to even see a Force Unleashed PC game, LucasArts claimed that it would be too difficult to create one. I wonder what changed their minds??? Money?:stuck_out_tongue: Or maybe public outcry…

Are you paraphrasing or did they really said that? SE can port games from the PS2 to PC to Xbox. I don’t see why anyone else, especially LucasArts, couldn’t. I mean Force Unleashed was released on how many platforms before PC? A lot of companies claim it’s hard to remap a console controller to the keyboard or vice versa, but I claim BS since PC controllers are available. I prefer keyboard though.

I’m sure it was a money driven decision. Look at how much the ME series made.

Oh they actually said that. I kept waiting for a PC version to come out, six months went by and still no PC version. So I went online to investigate and find out when one would be coming out and found a number of articles on the matter. The physics engine LucasArts had designed for the game was so unique that they felt the code could not be translated over for use on Windows or Mac.

I was both devastated and pissed when I read that, they felt that the amount of time and research that would be needed to do so could never be recouped in sales. Apparently something happened which changed their minds!

Limited save options. I want to save where I want to save! I can live with a bit of a limit, but I don’t want to play for 1/2 hour and die JUST BEFORE THE END OF THE QUEST for the nth time then have to START AGAIN, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Fable on PC was very much like this. Zelda on Wii is worse. (I will NEVER leave the Gorgon mines. <weeps>)

Takes the joy out of it. I know some people play for the challange of the battles, but I play for relaxation and that “ooo shiny” feeling. Playing the same damn 1/2 hour is NOT shiny!

I hate it when the biggest game company in the world (EA) makes a game that has problems with the most common PC hardware out there. In 2007 I got Command and Conquer 3, my computer met all the recommended requirements. It was a Dell with an ATI Radeon card, running windows XP. Pretty much the most common set up you could get at that time. The game crashed constantly, and I was not the only one with this problem.
Later, when I upgraded my computer to well past the recommended requirements (for unrelated reasons), it worked perfectly.

Command and Conquer 4 came out on Tuesday, and this time my computer is just short of the requirements. Guess who isn’t buying it.

Can you believe they showed us that movie in middle school health class? Most of us didn’t understand it. Once I did understand it I wished for blessed ignorance. I still can’t look at a piano without getting a little “wierded out”.

  1. People that play a good game on EASY one time and then trade it in.
  2. Haxxors. Haytum!
  3. Updates that break games and lose all my progress.

so i am trying to play mass effect at insane level…

my weapons are useless

armor has turn to paper

ALL my enemys are tanks

so

after 10-12 hours of insane fustrations…i very very nearly threw my pad against a wall…and i realised i was starting to hate this game i love soooo much.

now, i am no fancy, big city player…but is this suppose to be fun?

is that level of difficulty actually a joke?

Do you have decent weapons and armour. If you have Spectre X weapons (I like the assault rifle myself, fitted with frictionless materials mod) and a high level armour it’s not that bad. I was able to take down a Geth Colossus on foot reasonbly easily. I think at higher difficulty levels the Mako is more of a liability against strong enemies.

Why do people drive slow in the left lane!!!

Biotics = easy mode.
Only fight I remember being challenging is the Battlemaster in the elevator.

it has gone a bit better in the last few hours once i started using my companions better and learning to be a bit more patient…sniping rules!!!

before…at lower level…i could not care less about my team…there were sot of there. but as i learn to be more tactical with them…i see they are quite useful after all. Tali has become my favorite one to bring because of her awesome technical abilities…say bye bye, shield!!!
