Is anyone else psyched?
Trailer:
Hell to the yeah (as the always eloquent Mrs. Bobby Brown would say). And I’m super psyched that it won’t involve the alien mythos. If they play their cards right, this could turn into a series of well made, thoughful, creepy quasi-supernatural horror/suspense movies. Like the better non-mythos episodes of the series.
Leoben is in it! Wel, in the trailer at least.
I know he did a couple of guest spots on the X-Files (after turning down the role of Alex Krycek because he didn’t want to do a TV series. Yeah, they all come back, don’t they? (Hi, David Caruso!))
I didn’t watch the show religiously, but I am looking forward to the movie.
I’m just surprised that it hasn’t been advertised more. I just found out about it a couple of days ago…
I want it to be really good, but I have low expectations because of how the series ended. I remember loving the show when it was first on. It creeped me out on Friday nights and I loved it! It ended up being so bad in the end. The payoff was such a let-down. All I can say, is that I want it to redeem the series, but I have my doubts.

Ah, memories. This show got me through my teen years, though I stopped watching after the first few episodes of season 7. I did like the series finale, and I’m very excited about a standalone monster-of-the-week movie. Those types of episodes were always my favorite - I can’t wait to see one on the big screen!
Forgive me if this has been posted, but I didn’t find it with the search function.
This movie looks pretty good, but it appears that Leoben will be in it.
According to his IMDB profile, he appeared in two episodes of The X-files. (Lazarus as a character named Tommy and Fresh Bones as the groundskeeper) I wonder if he’ll be either of those characters in the movie. IMDB doesn’t list his role.
This movie is going to be rough for me. I am a huge x-files fan… I am trying to think of what they could possibly show us that they have not already… Other than, knocking out the conspiracy group and showing the world that…we are not alone…
Anyone got the scoop on the movie topic… I could look it up myself, but that would interfere with looking up images of Grace-park to post on the gutter thread…IYKWIM.
Rumor has it they are doing a sort of reboot of the whole thing. Not sure what will be different though.
All I’ve managed to gather is he plays one of the bad guys in this movie (I’ve seen some of the leaked call sheets) but I haven’t been able to figure out what the movie is actually about. So far all I know for sure is Mulder and Scully are back, it doesn’t involve aliens or the conspiracy (it’s one of the monster of the week stories) and it takes place after the series finale so they aren’t rebooting the series.
I was very excited to see that Callum Keith Rennie was going to be in this.
from what i’ve heard it’s more along the lines of the more stand alone episodes, away from the alien abduction mythology.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t Callum Keith Rennie originally offered the role of Krycek, but he couldn’t take it, so he recommended Nick Lea? (Thanks to that role I’ve had a TV crush on that poor guy ever since. Yup, I’ve watched Men In Trees and Kyle XY just for him.)
Anyway, as I’m just now learning about Rennie’s work, it’s nice to see him come full circle with the show.
