The Star Trek Experience

Sweet!! Thanks Steve for the info. Thats me on the right and my best friend (not the ferangi:))

No Orion Slave Girls, sorry. One blue one though, the Andorian female:

And one Vulcan female:

(I’m the one without the pointy ears, eh)

They also have a Klingon female but I don’t have a picture of her that I can find on my computer. :frowning:

Nice. Of course, this raises the long-standing controversy. Which is hotter: green women or blue women? But that’s a whole other thread.

Sweet Lords of Kobol, my roommate just won a trip to Las Vegas on the radio! I must weasel my way into this adventure.

I went last week for my bachelor party. It was GREAT!

Have you managed to get in on this trip Glim?

Glad to hear you enjoyed it. I love going there and spending a day or two around the Experience. Did you eat and drink at Quark’s? What’s your fav drink? Liquid Latinum for me…even have the list of ingredients and order that they go in the glass so I can make them here at home.

Give me a holler if you do wind up in town. The number to call is 702-425-8547 which is a SkypeIn number that re-routes to one endpoint or another.

Let’s hope.

Saurian Brandy…Mmmmmmmm.

Good choice. Did anyone in your party over partake of the Romulan Ale and “smurf” themselves?

I was not impressed with the Romulan Ale. First, it was a lager. Second it was a little boring.

Oh, yeah it’s just a lager, but the side effects of the blue food coloring are interesting the next day if one over imbibes. What was boring? The Romulan Ale or Quarks?

Well looks like it’s all but official that ST:EXP will be closing this fall. Here’s the link to an article on trekmovie.com:

http://trekmovie.com/2008/06/29/star-trek-the-experience-closing-in-september/

Now the question is if anybody would want to come visit me this summer and see ST:EXP. We’ve had some pretty warm days already. Staying at a Stations Casinos property might off-set part of the cost for folks in an organized event and I am sure a conveyance could be hired to take folks across town to the LV Hilton. Either Sunset Station or Boulder Station would work for this.

If a date can be settled, folks can book air tickets, and book rooms then the logistics on the ground are the easy part. Ground logistics cannot really be handled until those first three things are settled. I am open for such to happen in August perhaps but am curious what might be doable for some. For the crew in So.Cal. and Phoenix, driving in could be an option perhaps in lieu of air and staying at Sunset Station simplest as the strip is north of Henderson.

As I said, pick a date that can be committed to and then we can worry about the simple ground logistics issues.

Looks like I went just in time.

Oh, and I thought the “ale” was boring not the Experience!

I would love to be able to see it one last time. I know that Chuck/Audra/Sean were talking about wanting a meet-up there a while back. I’m not sure what things look like calendar wise for August, but I’d love to see someone set a date and shoot for it.

We will prolly want to avoid the big annual Star Trek con in August though that from the 6th to the 10th. It’s at the Hilton and it will be a mad house!

Yes you did go just in time. And I agree that the ale is boring…until someone drink lots…and then has blue pee the next morning. I’m talkin some smurfin’ excitement there! LOL

New TrekMovie.com article about the close:

Sounds like CBS wants to get it up somewhere else…let’s hope!

Okay, so the official date is September 1st.

The cheapest price for a room for one at Sunset Station looks to be June 25-27 at $208 for staying two nights. August 1-3 has rooms at Sunset at $99 per night. The big cost is going to be airfare. Train travel is out of the question unless a massive carpool for the AMTRAK station in Needles over the line in California could occur. Driving is only practical for the So.Cal. crew as far as I am aware as they need merely come up I-15 from LA.

The website for Sunset Station is, simply enough, http://www.sunsetstation.com/.

Yes, I believe that Sept 1st is the last day it will be open. Sounded like they would be open for the Labor Day holiday. Then nevermore.

Well the weekend in July is out for me, Mom’s b-day. Can’t miss that and stay in “good daughter” standing. And the second weekend you mentioned is fiscal month-end at work…another no go for me. sigh…I still hope to get there one more time
