The show, explained...

(Please read to the end)

A story that harkens back to another time,

“There are those who believe that life here began out there, far across the universe, with tribes of humans who may have been the forefathers of the Egyptians, or the Toltecs, or the Mayans. That they may have been the architects of the great pyramids, or the lost civilizations of Lemuria or Atlantis.”

Let me spin this tale to the best of what has been presented.

The Universe is “God” and all of the head characters are exactly what they have always said “Angels of God”. (Ok he hates being called that but for the purpose of the article he will just have to forgive it)

Life, human life began on Kobol and for a time it was good.

Humanity created artificial life, and the cycle began. Yet there was evidence to show that Humanity was created by The Lords of Kobol. So in a way Humanity is also an “Artificial Life Form”. We are not given any more info about any other prior life before the Lords, so we have to believe they are the beginning.

The Cycle of creation and destruction played itself out several times. We as the audience only got to see the last Cycle, AKA Battlestar Galactica.

The real “Plan” was not a Cylon or Human creation but Gods’ AKA The Universe.

The show was the culmination of that Plan. Humanity and Cylon where guided all the way by God and the trail of breadcrumbs led them to this “Earth”.

So what does it all mean?

Well to put it simply, God created life and that life fell from his grace. God was torn and possibly felt saddened by the cycle his creations put their selves into.

God intervened and let his Angels interact with Humanity. They led us through the last cycle by placing images and music to lead Gods Children to a new beginning. A little blue planet Humanity would come to call, “Earth”

What happened on BSG in the finally was this. The only way to truly break the cycle was to bring Humanity to this Earth and finally wipe the slate clean by allowing them to abandon all of their Tech and History. With-in a few generations the entire journey from Kobal (first Cycle) to us present day, would be forgotten.

What was Kara? Who or what where the Lords? Why did the Human survivors freely give up their ships and Tech? Doesn’t matter…

We are left in the end to fill in the gaps, to write our own stories, to breathe life into the universe of BSG given to us by the shows writers and creators. All the things we would have liked to have known are in the end up to us to decide upon. Our imagination is where the story will continue.

The Show is not perfect and it surely doesn’t fit into a neat little box, but no show does and no story has ever been. BSG will be remembered for its timely messages and its outstanding acting. The fans are being given a gift. That gift is the fire of our imagination as we are left to fill in the gaps and turn BSG into something more than a show.

So with this all said, I leave you all to your own.

Yours truly,
A messenger of God

I just rewatched the show and I still stand by my statement. Hum, I guess I wasn’t as disapointed as i thought I would be.

After re-watching Daybreak 1+2, I came away with a sense of satisfaction in having experienced a frakkin good story. BSG is surely the SciFi genre at its best. There is much to come back to again and again.
