....the Quest for Lord Stanley!!!!

…and so it is…Coyotes/Kings…and Rangers/Devils…the worst possible match-up to kill my fun and enjoyment of what’s been an EPIC playoff run for the Devils… sigh…this will NOT be a fun two weeks…

Due to a weird series of events, I’m rooting for the Devils as well!

ANY and ALL help will be welcome and embraced!!!

I predict Lundquist standing on his head every single gods damned time the devils have a scoring opportunity :frowning:

I do see this happening, but I’m also pretty sure every game in this series will be decided by a single goal, whether that’s for or against the Devs is to be seen, but it’s going to be damn close.

We’ll see…to compare these teams to the two West ones left…the Devils are much like LA, the Rangers are much like Phoenix (both need to score first and hang on for dear life playing hockey in the fetal position) while the Devils and LA have the depth and the guns to score from any line…all pleasant stuff aside for today I am seriously ready to go to war in my bar for the next two weeks…this won’t be pleasant :stuck_out_tongue:

An ode to the master of the world’s shortest press conferences:

When I started this thing almost two months ago…I HAD NO IDEA…or delusions…that the Devils would be one of the last two teams standing!!! I know this place isn’t a big sports haven and that’s cool…but MY GOD…nine years plus…disappointments…letdowns…false hopes (and I mean this on and off the ice…ok, well more off the ice)…it seems like anything I put faith into something and believed in it…and put my heart into it…it would turn and kick me in the junk at the worst time possible… friends, sports, my own games, relationships (ok, ESPECIALLY relationships…)…and a 22-year old kid who got jacked in the gonads a half hour before, standing 18 inches from a line and pushing a small rubber puck over that little line on the ice…and it ALL feels like it melted away…this still feels like a dream!!! I’m still tearing up when I watch the NHL Network and see the highlights…

STANLEY CUP FINALS!!! WWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

I’m gonna hit refresh on facebook and cry again :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m Canadian (Irish) born (soon to be American by love and pledge) and have played my entire life … even now (closer to 50 than 40). I remember when I learned to swim, but not when I learned to skate.

Love the game. Always have … until I’m dust.

Not much interested in this series since my favourite teams and any with family links have all fallen away in the first round. But I’ll watch. Labatts in first two periods. Jamesons for 3rd and OT

drop the puck for f’ sakes!

I always watch the Finals all the way through…only time I didn’t was Dallas and Buffalo in '99…hated Belfour and Hasek too much…this is obviously closer to home

As for the days off…as a FAN I’m mentally spent and exhausted…I needed the weekend plus off (and I have ice hockey games on Tuesdays so I am real happy with the scheduling now)

the two hottest and deepest teams going at it…it should be good…

ooph … your still skating in May? You must be under 30 I’d imagine. My old fart league had our “banquet” (aka … titty bar and rounds) back in April.

Have fun

I’m 39, but you’d never know it meeting me…or seeing me on the ice…or in goal in my floor league…my hockey playing is the motive of my 65+ pounds lost in the last four years, and the better shape I’m in the more I play

(helps being single too :stuck_out_tongue: )

damn … drive on dude.

You are right. I tell my wife every “Monday morning weigh in” that 10 pounds are hers and 5 more for our daughter’s. She just smiles and says they just moved from my muscles to my heart. Then she laughs and tells me to start breakfast
