Oh yay! You’re in season 5 now. I’ve been following your progress on your podcast. 
I remember the first time I saw 11th Hour and I had a similar reaction like you at first. In time I came to actually love the changes (I still prefer the old theme music though) and I consider season 5 to be the best season of New Who yet.

I’m just listening to more tv then usual and we can’t keep up. I’ll make sure that they are done before the meet up for some airplane listening
Yeah the theme song from season 4 is my favorite. They made some awesome arrangements on that version so this new one was kind of a let down.
For season 5 I totally trust Moffet to make it extraordinary since he wrote some of my favorite episode to date but it seems I’m getting old and reluctant to change. Also I was really looking forward to the change in screwdriver and the fact it just grew from the Tardis was a bit weird for my taste. I would have like to see the Doctor build it.
Math Smith is the big positive change of this season. He is the Doctor from the 1st minute. Where Tenant took a couple a ep to really own the character ( and became amazing) Smith seem to be born to play the part.
Anyway, Dr Who will wait for now because I cheated and did not watch Torchwood S2 so I’m going back to Torchwood for now.
I have to admit that Who is one of my favorite show ever!!! Can’t wait for more who goodness
Yes I have to say Smith is the Doctor right off. And I to was a lil put off by some of the gimmicks they used in 11th. Not to worry though, it does get better. A lil confusing (heck when hasn’t any good Who not been confusing). That and they have dropped some hints as to what is going on with the support people. Now if they flesh that out we have to wait on it. Anyways sit back and enjoy the ride.
