The Movie Quote Game

Nah… it has always been called:

But no one ever remembers the part below ‘The Thing’ they always just remember it as ‘The Thing’. The original short story was called ‘Who goes there?’ which the remake stayed far closer to.

Trivia- James Arness played the monster (aka 'The Killer Carrot)

The reason some of the scares looked so good was because the director was real trickster (though some thought he was an SOB), he would tell the actors to say their lines and then open a door and go outside. What he didn’t tell them was that James Arness would be standing outside waiting for them, to give them the fright of their lives!

Twilight? heh…just kidding.

Nope,

and nope.

The Thing from Another Planet that’s it! :frowning: And I have no idea what your quote is from. It’s not even vaguely familar to me.

I remembered most of the title, heh.

Badger’s or mine? Mine’s defo not from Twilight.

Why am I hearing John Cusak in my head when I read this?

BTW, they’re re-remaking it.

Amazingly, I actually knew all that trivia about it, and yet, I was still convinced that my recollection of the title was correct. Weird.

Another tidbit: The flaming Thing scene in this movie is believed to be the first full-body burn using a stunt man. He was wearing an asbestos suit (which, of course, they didn’t know what bad for you back then) and breathing from a tank of pure oxygen.

While on fire.

Twilight? heh…just kidding.

You’re actually not as far off as you might think.

Schizophrenia? Demon possession? John Cusack has a small door in his office that leads to the inside of your head?

No way! Suh-weet!

ETA: Apparently not exactly. It’s a prequel.

I hear it in my head. Weird accent…craaap! Oh wait, they’re burning stuff. ‘Fahrenheit 451’!!

That’s Jack Nicholson! He’s talking to…um…Catwoman! I mean, Michelle Pfeiffer. ‘Wolf’

Are you kiddin’ me?!? Don’t tell me. Weyland-Yutani created The Thing!

Anyway, my turn for a quote:

“When I found her, she looked so peaceful. Why do you have to die to let go? All my life, I never needed anybody… And now, because of this thing she left me, I’m scared.”

Ya mon, you got it.

That’s Walken in Brainstorm…I think…I hear it in my head in his voice anyways.

“An invariable rule of humanity is that man is his own worst enemy.”

Of course! Why couldn’t I remember that?

“Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!”

That’s Jack Nicholson! He’s talking to…um…Catwoman! I mean, Michelle Pfeiffer. ‘Wolf’

Well done. I didn’t think anyone but me ever saw that.

I love the Spader and Jack scene in the bathroom, when Jack marks his territory.

Heh. I’d forgotten about that. Great scene.

I know this one- Being John Malkovich.

you call that slam dunk matrix quote a challenge?

scoop of vanilla, scoop of chocolate

don’t waste my time

(name THAT, fuckaaaah)

What part of the above is your quote? You might want to include quotation marks so that we know next time. And you might want to tone down the 'tude, dude.

City Slickers

i’ll give this a try…

“never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line.”

ah… perhaps this is way too easy, but i love that movie.

I think that was said in the spirit of the quote.

The Princess Bride!!!

Finally a softball.

"How do you write women so well?

I think of a man, and I take away reason and accountability."

City Slickers? Really? It’s now a SF/Fantasy/Horror movie?

Maybe…didn’t read that way at all to me. My sense of humor this morning seems to have been shoveled out with all the frakkin snow I shoveled this morning. My bad.

Another great Jack Nicholson quote, this one from As Good As It Gets.

LOVE that movie.
