hmmm…I am intrigued

Wow! A black President? Can you imagine? That would be so cool!

Looks like a good series. I hope they can contrast themselves with Flash Forward though.

Just saw the pilot. Too much “23 days ago / 11 minutes ago / 7 hours ago” business … but I’m officially intrigued. On the other hand, I bought into Flash Forward only to have them drop it … and then Happy Town, which was also dropped. So … lets just say my hopes aren’t too high.

But, I’ll definitely give it an honest go and see where they take it. Your impressions?

I’m gonna continue watching, but I wasn’t impressed with the first episode. I expect it’ll die an early death.

I was a total Flash forward fan and they dropped it like a rock on the side of a country road. I’ve been holding off watch this one, I’ve saved the first to eps, waiting to see what everyone else says on here about it…

Meh

This show really hasn’t managed the non-linear thing very well. The things that made flashbacks (forwards and sideways too) work for Lost are:

  1. There were only ever two narrative timelines at a time
  2. One of the timelines always remained focussed on a single character (and in some respects the other usually did too)
  3. Both timelines moved forward for the whole episode with no jumping backwards
  4. There was a clear (auditory) transition between them so we could tell what was going on

Watching the second episode we had 8 months ago and then 7 days ago in the first few minutes and Mrs Wolfbyte (who had not seen the pilot) had to ask, “7 days before ‘now’ or 7 days before ‘8 months ago’” and to be honest it took me a few seconds to know the right answer. I don’t really know when the show’s NOW is. We haven’t been given enough with it to hold on to.

I wanted this show to be great but I guess I’m going to have to wait for it to fail and hope for something better next TV season. Sadly, after FlashForward, Dollhouse, this and others, I worry that the execs are going to wonder if science fiction is A Good Bet.

We still have V and we have to have hope for No Ordinary Family (though I’m lacking hope for that series).

I hadn’t heard that V was comming back for a second season. I’m going to do some google work on that and find out more. I loved ther first run, even if it gave me nightmares as a kid of them landing outside my bedroom window.

V is coming back for a second season but not until I think January.

I tried to watch The Event but was confused by the jumping around with the time things. It was more annoying than anything else. At least with Lost they did focus on a character and it did progress forward. Even Flash Forward did not seem so bad to me. I had no idea why The Event was jumping around to different points in time or who in the story was important.

If I’m going to get lost while watching another show, it will be Fringe. At least Peter will explain what’s going on at some point.

It’s getting to be a joke with me now. I was watching the last episode with my sister and in the opening scene she said that she didn’t remember the FBI agent getting shot. Jokingly, I told her, ‘Oh you haven’t seen the 8 hrs earlier part.’. The very next scene was the accident from 2 hrs earlier.

Well I thought it was funny.

Would have been hilarious if you had said 2 hours. d:
