The Door Into Summer by Heinlein

I’m only halfway through this, but the premise sounds intriguing.

It’s about a guy who invents a household robot, gets taken to the cleaners by his partner and his ex-fiancée - after that they trick the poor guy into agreeing to let himself be put into cryostasis for 30 years. When he wakes up, he gets the chance to travel back and get even - but I’m not there yet. I hope this book delivers.

What’s so amazing about Heinlein is when you read his stuff you go, “Oh that’s where so-and-so got the idea.” There is never a moment of, “Hey he ripped that off <insert scifi author>” When you check the dates, Heinlein done it first.

Totally agreed. I’m getting into the last third of this book and it gets really interesting here.

It is a good one. Almost all of RH’s work is pure Great.

Finished it last night. Seems to be one of those stories that defined all other time travel stories that came later. And the imagination of that guy, just pure awesomeness. If I read this correctly, he foresaw Velcro at almost a decade before it was invented, right?
