In my book, Boomer’s been an OG since day one.
Here’s some dark stuff for the Samhain season:
And another one from the same dark genius, but a little less metal.

Everybody should give Karma Police a listen. It’s dead depressing but still excellent.
EDITED again: Thank you Pike! You’d think, not being straight, that I wouldn’t have problems RTFM but it seems so …

It’s in the FAQ if you forget.
Thanks friend
Great Galactica related song or greatest?
“You’re not here” by Akira Yamaoka a good song, from a good video game; and pretty damn good horror movie for Halloween
Silent hill
That is my favorite Radiohead album. Exit Music for a Film moves me to tears. A friend once played a piano only version of it. I must find it NOW!
This cat Christopher O’Riley hosts a PBS show called From the Top. It’s a music-education show the spotlights young classical musicians. He’s a heckuva pianist, and he’s recorded two CDs of Radiohead covers (also Elliot Smith and others).
Here’s some free (live) stuff from his website, www.christopheroriley.com/ :

ps. All-girl group Northern State also does a nice “No Suprises”. Donwload here…

It’s a legal download, a B-side from Stereogum e-magazine’s legal, free tribute to OK Computer, which you can download here:
All kindsa folks like Vampire Weekend covering the OKC album, track by track.
Bauhaus covers Bowie’s “Ziggy Stardust.”

Definitely one of the top five covers ever. For my money. And a great Fall/Halloween song – glam goes goth.
sweet Jane by the cowboy junkies
PS the entire trinity sessions revisited are just epic.
Another one of the great cover versions of all times. I’m partial to the Natural Born Killers soundtrack version, shorter and with the romantic-psycho dialogue.
Love it!
I like both versions and the original. I got into Lou Reed a few years back and Sweet Jane was instantly one of my faves.
It’s like the wrote that just for me. Nice one, sir. Thanks for sharing.
Life on mars by David Bowie
mostly cause i just started to watch the new show and love it. just so much, i could have little life on mars baby shows raise them up, make sure they have a good upbringing and a proper education so my great grand children could watch life on mars shows about those backwards crazy folks from way back in 2008
I’ll just stop now :o
“Viva La Hova”
It’s an album-length mashup/blend of Jay-Z vocals and Coldplay music. I downloaded, haven’t listened yet. But the DJs who put it together – Mick Boogie and Terry Urban – have yet to disappoint.
web page, with download links:
Downloads as a .zip folder, which decompresses into mp3 files.
It’s the super-trendy item of the week, so the download times are a little hairy.
here’s one track, “X-Y-Z”
