The comic/graphic novel thread

Oh ya’ll have listed some great reads in here. My inner, okay, not so inner, comic geek girl is squee-ing up a storm.

Some I’d recommend even though most of them are already listed:

Preacher
Y the Last Man
Ex Machina
Kingdom Come
Swamp Thing
100 Bullets
Runaways
Hellblazer
Stray Bullets
Strangers In Paradise
Bone
** for pure cheese value but a pretty good story none the less Camelot 3000

Anything & everything by Frank Miller, Alan Moore and Neil Gaiman. If getting Stardust you must get the Charles Vess illustrated version not the written novel.

Absolutely, 100%, completely in agreement. It was gorgeous, no?

Absolutely it was!

Oooops, I forgot to mention Kabuki. Great story and absolutely beautiful.

Y the Last Man
Batman: Year One
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns

Oooh I was just about to come on here and recommend that. Kabuki is incredible. The artwork is absolutely gorgeous and the story and character development is very strong. I highly recommend it to just about everyone.

Ages ago, I mentioned a documentary by the History Channel called “Superheroes Unmasked” that gives a good overview over the history of superhero comic books since 1937. I finally found the link:
