TF3 - No Megan Fox according to AP

Megan Fox has been axed from “Transformers 3,” Access Hollywood has confirmed.
A source at Paramount, the studio behind the film, told Access that Megan, who played star Shia LaBeouf’s love interest in the franchise, would not return for the third movie.

The source said that in order to take Shia’s character - Samuel James Witwicky – in a new direction, it was better if Sam wasn’t tied down to a love interest.
On Wednesday night, however, reps for the actress told People that it was Megan’s decision to leave the movie.

In my mind, what works best in the TF movies are the robots themselves, bringing their personalities to the forefront, the battle sequences, getting the audience to actually feel for them. What ruined the TF movies for me were the undeserved focus on Megan Fox, and the low-rent acting of Shia LaBeouf. Yeah, yeah, I know, she’s so hot, she brought some serious box office, yada yada yada. I don’t disagree. But she (and LaBeouf) didn’t make the first two movies. The robots did.

Robot movies are best when they are all about the robots. I hope she has a wonderful career. Stay out of my robot movies. Summer Glau is always welcome though, of course. :wink:

Shia is the only thing I really liked about those two transformers movies. Besides Bumblebee (who spends most of his time in car mode) you barely get any of the bots on screen ‘acting’. They spend 95% of the movie offscreen, onscreen driving, or involved in fight scenes cut so spastically you cant see whats going on. But Im glad to see they are doing whats best for the character. :rolleyes: I cant say I care that Meg is on the outs, theyll just replace her with someone just as hot and just as unable to act, so no big whoop. Its funny to see both sides spinning this like it was their idea, just like when she made those comments about Bay and everyone afterward was like ‘oh yea everything is totally cool’

I’m no fan of megan fox, but this movie is going to lose a LOT of box office with her missing. I hate to say it, but I tend to think we’re out numbered by incredibly shallow people who never really cared about the robots, and want to see the hot chick, and geeky shia’s attempts to get her instead.

Despite Megan’s lack of acting ability, she is all kinds of hot right now. Mark my words, there will be a huge outcry from the general public regarding her absence from this movie. Even if they improve the robot characters, people will say “Who cares? That hot chick is gone!”, and the movie will suffer for it.

Update: Actually, I might be wrong about this. I checked another blog on this, and some people are saying they’re GLAD that she’s gone.

Sorry for the repost, but gotta get my thoughts on this in again.

But, I’m ambivalent really. She’s great to look at, but after two movies, I could go for more robot screen time.

Posted this in the Random News thread yesterday…but let me chime in again.

Maybe I’m one of the few who really liked her…not just on hotness (which was plentiful) but she seemed to pretty much fit. My thots really are about why in the hell would anyone screw themselves over as much as she just did. This was her bread and butter…this was a franchise that had (and could have continued) to make her money. Why in the hell would she crap on Bay (Working with Bay is like working for Hitler)…I mean, if yuou dont think this is Shakespeaere, cool, smile for the camera, take your check & STFU. At least if she asked for more money…I’d still shake my head, but I can see that. Sabotaging the whole thing? Just dumb. Truly.

Also, FastCart - sorry…this is a Michael Bay movie. Yes you can have robots…but if there is no uber hotness it aint gonna fly. It’s why Megan Fox was put on there in the first place.

There are some other girls out there who can take over (Glau is a great example) adn they erally dont even need ot change the character, just have a new girl play her.

Megan Fox being gone doesnt mean Transformers 3 wont have beautiful women, it obviously will. The question is will anyone care that its some other talentless hottie and not Ms. Fox. I doubt it.

My gut feel is that she walked. At the end of the day Michael was famously using her mainly as eye candy. But over the last few years she’s started to carve out a proper career for herself, so she doesn’t need the ‘exposure’ (sorry) anymore to promote herself, and it’s quite possible she would think doing another semi-playboy stint in TF3 would actually hold her back or get her typecast as nothing but totty.

Note, I’m not suggesting she actually is a serious actress with great dramatic range (or that shes not, I’ve only seen her in TF), just that I could see her or her advisors thinking that.
