TF3: Bay promises to do better!

Quite interesting, Bay is pretty open about saying there were some problems with the second movie and that he’s going to listen to the critisism and make a better movie for 3. I’m quite surprised as that’s a fairly humble attitude from someone famed for being fairly bombastic.

Some interesting specifics.

[li]Shockwave is going to be the big bad.
[/li][li]Less ‘dorky comedy’, i.e. no Twins.
[/li][li]It’s going to be shot in 3D
[/li][li]He seems to be saying that this film is it and he sees the franchise ending as a trillogy.

All that sounds great to me. If the movie is going to be shot in 3D I may actually go to a theater to watch it. Blue space cats dont do anything for me, but Prime in 3D? Im all for it.

Yup, sounds good to me too.

I have mixed views over two. I don’t think it’s the pile of c**p that many people accuse it of, but it clearly has some issues.

For me it’s a good solid film, on a par with the first one (which I love), right up to the point where they zap to Egypt. From then on in the whole thing starts to ramble, and while the individual parts are well made and entertaining, it just loses narrative cohesion. Towards the end it just seemed that stuff is being throw at the screen with little rhyme or reason behind it.

I’ve always thought it was very odd, as adding some better dialogue and plotting is in the scheme of things vastly cheaper and easier to do than 45 minutes of wall to wall cutting edge SFX, so it seems weird to undermine the impact of all that money by missing out the cheap stuff. For want of a nail…

But it’s interesting to see here Bay saying that the writters stike had an impact. That could very easily explain why the end of the film looses focus in that way.

Well in the interest of all Transformer fans I present to you a nice goodbye to Megan Fox…
