teh suck has left the building - EP 417 - Someone to Watch Over Me

Hallelujahbebbejeebus!

This episode rocked and it rocked hard. After the lull of the last two episodes, including the less-than-stellar “Deadlock”, this episode came out with punches and rugs pulled out from under right and left.

Watchtower – When Starbuck joined in on the piano playing and it was then panning to the Final Five (Four) Roundtable and Tigh’s crazed recognition I knew “Deadlock” had been redeemed. The palate has been cleansed and the storyline was furthered. I loved the callback to Watchtower and that the missing piece came from Hera.

Boomer. The ultimate frakked up Eight Model. But she owned this – she played everyone, got Hera and took out Galactica (to a degree) with an FTL jump. ((I. Did. Not. See. That. Coming.)) Oh, and majorly frakked with Athena solely because she could.

The (presumed) death of Laura and her somehow (blood transfusion?) being attuned to Hera.

The beginning of the end of Galactica due to the Eight that Sucketh Mosteth.

What a difference 44 minutes can make!! I feel re-energized over these final upcoming episodes/hours. Already, the Old Girl and Adama’s Girl are going, going, gone…

Episode appreciation moments:

–Starbuck/Helo friendship: One of my favorite (small) elements of the show; and despite Helo’s collossal “whoops!” in this episode, he’s still the best d*mn guy.

–Starbuck being the least self-destructive we’ve seen her – despite her forcing herself to go through the motions of life with the weight of what/who she is due to Charbuck and Anders’ situation constantly a burden to her. Instead of frakking anything in sight, she creates a Head Daddy to talk about her frustration and true question of what am I?

–Cylon Roundtables

–Chief’s expressions: (1) first freaking out with projection; (2) embracing projection and the live he and Boomer once planned to live; and (3) his devastated realization that he helped Boomer kidnap Hera.

–Boomer.

–Anders – still in the game.

All Along the Watchtower brought to you by Hera and Starbuckv2.

LOL! Not too far from my own thoughts, barring my extreme dissatisfaction with what they did with Boomer. But your appreciation bits? Check, check, check, check, check, check, and check.

This episode rocked and it rocked hard. After the lull of the last two episodes,

sorry to call u out but how was “no exit” a lull? my head was spinning…but i agree deadlock was dead!

and yes that final piano scene with watchtower has become my favorite moment since they jumped into new craprica last season…bear’s blog about this last ep is truly amazing! http://www.bearmccreary.com/blog/

A great episode. Left my brain spinning, and my heart wrenched.

Better than Deadlock but still not up to expectations.

It made Chief voting to leave the fleet look even more out of character.

What happened to Cylons recognize Cylons? Boomer walks all over Galactica and doesn’t come across any others?

Hera didn’t recognize Boomer as not her mom?

This close to the finale and we get so few moves on the board? – Hera to Cavil, Head Daddy, Chief a mess.

I did like that a child that is growing up in space would think of stars as circles not “stars”.

If / when the cylons and humans settle somewhere together it would make a lot of sense for cylons to start cutting their hair differently and getting into visible body art. “Why did you sleep with her? Don’t tell me you overlooked that she didn’t have a shamrock tattooed on her shoulder!!! Clang! (Sound of frying pan upside the head.)

Most BSG feeling episode in a long time. Was soo glad we had the show focus back on the characters that made it what it was. For too long its been the Adama/Ros/Tigh show. Hopefully the rest of the season can play out in this manner.

A really good idea.
Welcome to the Forums, Moe.

Yah, that’s my hope also.
Welcome aboard, southwick.

That was a lovely blog entry, wasn’t it?
