talk of ALIEN prequel

…hmmm

a prequal? so it will take place before we ever see a Xeno-morph for the first time…

that ought to be exciting…

In Hollywood, no one cares if you scream.

They are officially out of fresh ideas.

Personally I think it would be interesting to see what happened on that Colony before Ripley & the marines got there in Aliens.

Maybe next they could do a prequel to 2001… we could see where Dave came from…

LOL ! Nice.

Folklore I’ve heard about the famous scene at the mess table, with the alien exiting Kane’s chest, is that none of the other actors were told what exactly was going to happen. The director wanted genuine looks of horror. I believe it.

I am ok with this. I would like to see the prequel to the first movie. Showing how the Xenomorph killed and crashed the other alien ship. I think they talked about it on the /filmcast and talked how cool it would be to see the film without humans at all.

I forget where I read it, but I heard that it would somwhow involve “young Riply”. I don’t think that they are going to do a “young Riply” - or at least I hope not. I hope it involves the giant alien seen sitting in his chair with his chest busted. That would be cool.

I like (sarcasm) the way the interviewer tried to get Tony to talk crap about Fox… seemed like a little of a douche move there. Probably has something to do with the interview’s brevity.

I hope it’s good. I didn’t hate the AvsP movies… I just wanted more so I can’t talk too much crap about them. I dodn’t know they were so unpopular. I do wish that they woould just revisit Cameron’s or Scotts Aliens. I hope this is good…
But unfortunalty… I am just afraid that it will involve “young” Riply and make me scream “douche-bagery!”

I’m up for this (as long as there’s no young Ripley). It could be interesting and show us how the little girl survived on her own.

Forget the aliens. Give me a prequel of Michael Biehn and his merry band of space marines blowing up stuff, and Bill Paxton complaining about it.

or at least different ones…Per Ridley Scott in an interview with Screen Daily below…

"The film will be really tough, really nasty. It’s the dark side of the moon. We are talking about gods and engineers. Engineers of space. And were the aliens designed as a form of biological warfare? Or biology that would actually go in and clean up a planet? It will take place in the years before that, when they first come across this thing on a planet called Zeta Reticuli. …

Yeah, the thing about Alien vs Predator is, I know it’s commerce, but what a pity… I think, therefore, I have to design - or redesign - earlier versions of what these elements are that led to the thing you finally see in Alien, which is the thing that catapults out of the egg, the face-hugger. I don’t want to repeat it. The alien in a sense, as a shape, is worn out."

…ummmm Ridley? You suuuuure about this, man?

To be honest the alien vs predator movies pretty much crippled my interest in the series, still could be good just echoing the thoughts of some others, stop reduing the same old stuff. I mean I get that its probably gong the make money and thats what the studios care about, still could be a good movie

The big deal to me about this movie is that Ridley Scott hasn’t made a sci-fi film since Blade Runner. The fact that he is returning to sci-fi is cause for celebration. Not many directors have an eye for it. Alien was a great film. James Cameron did a great job with the sequel, Aliens, but I am happy to see Ridley Scott back on board the franchise.
