In honor of Superman’s 75th birthday, Superman vs. Batman?

Yes, some say if Superman really wanted to eliminate Batman, he’d go all Flash-super-speed and tear him to pieces before Batman could even think about stopping him.

But in the best comic story ever, The Dark Knight Returns, the resourceful Batman has a final showdown with Supes and hands his Kryptonian arse to him.

And Batman, of course, has contingency plans to take down the superbeings, should they ever go rogue (and it works).

So who wins, the big blue Boy Scout or the Dark Knight?

Batman. Both would only engage the battle if they thought the outcome were truly vital. If they ended up on opposite sides of said battle, in a death match, perhaps… Batman would dominate. He is willing to break the world he loves, make it a bit more hellish, if that means its survival and chance to heal. I don’t think he’d hesitate to disable Superman, and, let’s face it: Wayne Industries can its hands on Kryponite. Supes would hesitate to actually take Batman out or to exploit his weak spots, since they involve such human cruelty.

Man! Superman is getting BEAT UP on his 75th Birthday. As of this post it is 7-3 in favor of Batman. Zoinks!
