Story arc's you would have liked to last longer

I want to take some time to think of mine but I would like to get a feel of what you all think.

I would have like to seen Baltar’s group deal with the Sons of Aries after they got the guns. It like they started a story arc, and then dropped it because the Galactica had to die first.

Tori–there was no real background on her…she just kinda showed up to replace Billy and that’s it. And after 2,000 years with the oterh final five–couldnt they have been able to tell if she was gonna go evil.

My thought/hope is that she genuinely was a realyl cool character. Cavil manipulated teh sitaution (as he did with teh other five) and put her in a position where all of the goodness was taken away and she became evil…and hot:D

Definitely. It even happened at the end of an episode, so I thought, “okay, here we go”, and then nothing.

But that happened ALOT the last season.

I would have liked more time devoted to how things happened in the blank year on New Caprica. Chief rarely seems very interested in his cabbage-stink wife, and the end result of the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth (not unlike brussel sprouts, which are tiny cabbages, right? or something like that?). I would have liked to see more development into their post-brutal assault courtship and their lives together before everything started to slide downhill.

I think there was an awful lot of stuff in S04 that could have been expanded. This really could have filled another 3 series. The Final 5 reveal could have been dealt with in more detail, addressing how much they remembered, more flashbacks to their life on Erf - I would have like more of that and more exploration of what happened there. spreading this over a couple of episodes or more rather than having the Anders info-dump would have been nice.

I always wanted them to do much more with Baltar and his religious stuff, and agree about the arming of the Balcubines and the implied conflict with the Sons of Ares. I think with another series or two they could have driven the show to an ending that was more coherent and satisfying (not that I’m that down on it).

Wow, I totally forgot about the whole arming the Gaius and Dolls. I must be losing it :frowning:
That really would have been nice to have had a bit of expanding upon.

I have to disagree about the time on New Caprica though. I thought having it jump right into things really worked. Seeing everyone playing happy families for a year before the cylons occupied wouldn’t have really fit with the show. I do have to say that i’d have liked to see more from the cylon perspective during the early days of the occupation. I think that’s where Boomer was pushed from the human sympathisers to being Cavil’s go to girl.

I would have liked them to have spent more time on how Lee lost all that weight…

I would like to have seen things from the Centurion perspective after the inhibitors were removed.

I wish we could have seen more of the rest of the fleet. I always wanted to know what life was like on the spinney ship.

Definitely more from the Balcubines vs Sons of Aries, especially after the 'More guns, bigger guns, better guns!" thing.

AND I always wanted to see the food processing center. How the bloody hell did they make everything out of algae?!?!

I would have liked to see more of the Pegusus after it joined the fleet. I thought it was quite interesting having two main ships, and one of them having such a violent history. This could have been with or without Lee in command, that to me was never the point.

Yes me too.

Also would like to have seen more about the mutineers, like Seelix and Racetrack. Were they in cells? Or just in exile? Were there any regrets or contrition? And I truly wanted to see Gage, the marine die.

Agreed. Some of BSG’s best stuff didn’t have the Cylon(z) involved at all. Its like they said on The West Wing, “This administration doesn’t need an oposition party, we do fine on our own.” The Pegasus/Resurrection Ship arc, Geata/Zarek’s mutiny, Adama’s miliary coup, all really great parts of the show.
