Stargate SG-1 901 & 902 - Avalon

August 24, 2013

10:00 PM – Avalon Part 1
“You know, the thing that’s hardest to get used to around here is how good everybody is at their job. The fact is, I like yelling at people! Never get the damn chance.”

11:00 PM – Avalon Part 2
“I was trying to politely explain what was going on, and then his wife started screaming and accusing me of being overcome at which point I believe I suggested she might think about procreation… with herself.”

Bump for tonight.

And starting right off with Cam.

Nice music cue right at the start and some nice gate shots.

Good way to tie Cam into the backstory. Kind of wish they did a Lost City Final Cut like they did for Children of the Gods and included this addition to the battle in it.

This opening sequence is OK, but the CG gate isn’t as good as the closeups in the last few seasons.

And no real explanation of Jack leaving (at least not yet. I just noticed that he’s appearing in the episode)

Going to take a while to get used to Landry. Been a while since I watched the last couple seasons.

I forget if I mentioned it, but this was originally going to be a new series but Sci-Fi asked them to continue SG-1 instead.

Cam does have some nice lines here.

And the reason we only see Sam on the screen is that Amanda was still on maternity leave at this point.

“Who said that?”
“I just did.”

Jack doesn’t really seem like a chess person.

Congressional Medal of Honor? That’s a big deal, wonder how they kept it secret.

Nice outfit, Vala.

And of course the obligatory wink at their connection from Farscape.

And this is the second time Vala has screwed Daniel out of going to Atlantis. Based on the clear gap between seasons, I’m guessing this Daedalus trip to Atlantis is the one from The Intruder.

“Just to clarify, if I kill her, I die?” Yeah, that’s about the only thing keeping Daniel from strangling her right now.

I love Cam’s reaction to the Merlin reveal.

Even Jack wasn’t this impatient with Daniel usually.

And I think this might be the first appearance of Marks who sort of became the default bridge officer in a lot of episodes.

Merlin certainly looks a lot different than when we saw him on Atlantis.

Wonder if the sword is looking for the Ancient gene.

Yeah, that didn’t look like a trap at all.

“Bullets bounce!”

Now that I’ve seen this once, Cam’s puzzle is really easy.

I’d say that qualifies as worse, Vala.
