Well, yes, but not in the way she’s describing it. We can measure distance by change in “color” — even if that extends outside the visible spectrum — to tell if objects are moving away or toward us. That can help us determine the current position of another star compared to where it used to be, but it’s not something that would have to be “corrected for”. The stars wouldn’t be moving fast enough to move appreciably out of the position where we determined them to be.
