I think I had an escape-type app like this.
They would only need to support the weight of one of you, then that one could run to the gate to get Shep or Lorne to come over with a Jumper and climbing gear.
Of the three actors, Amanda was actually the one who was afraid of heights, but it made sense for Sam to be the one to do the climbing.
