He wore them pretty much all the time until a few seasons in. After that, Daniel apparently got contacts. And started working out like a fiend.
It’s closer to this in the original CotG, but they fixed it in Final Cut.
Oh yeah, I think I actually prefer the movie gate travel effect to the late SG-1/Atlantis/Universe transit effect.

I don’t remember the exact details, but they thought they’d be able to use the movie Kowalski actor in SG-1, but then he dropped out, otherwise the character probably would have stayed around longer.

My first instinct would probably NOT be to follow the tracks made by an obviously large, unknown animal. But maybe that’s just me. Funny scene, though.
