Katie Sackhoff joins the cast of 24 next season!

Jack Bauer will be getting help from Starbuck next season.

After a couple of weeks of on-and-off negotiations, Katee Sackhoff, best known for her role as Kara “Starbuck” Thrace on “Battlestar Galactica,” has been tapped to co-star on Fox’s “24.”

On the 20th TV/Imagine TV series, she will play Dana Walsh, a smart and competent expert data analyst at CTU with a secret past who is involved with CTU agent Davis Cole (Freddie Prinze Jr.)

This marks the final major casting of a new regular for the show’s upcoming eighth season, which is already in production.

Sackhoff joins fellow new cast members Freddie Prinze Jr., Jennifer Westfeldt, Mykelti Williamson, John Boyd and Chris Diamantopoulos.

Sackhoff most recently toplined NBC’s pilot “Lost and Found.”

She is repped by Bleu and attorney Darren Trattner.

If she’s a villain, it’ll be the final season. She’ll kill everyone.

If she’s a on the CTU team, she’ll wrap up the whole conflict by the third hour. Then the next 21 shows will be her outdrinking and outfighting Bauer.

And then James Callis will shwo up…seeing women that arent there…mary McDonald will be the new Preisdent (but she cant airlock anyone since they are on Earth) and Eddie Olmos will be Sec State and jamie Bamber will be the new Head oc CTU, but he’ll have plans to run for office

Funny, I logged on to start a thread about this very thing. Super-excited about this. This last season has been one of the better ones, after the craptastic shellshocked Jack in S6.

As a fan of 24 let me say I love this.

Also people don’t expect her to be firing a gun. She’s playing a CTU techie.
Siting behind a computer probly.

She may go bad too. Which would be awesome.

altho i haven’t watched 24, this made me really happy! ive always thought katee was the biggest standout from the outstanding bsg cast, and am really excited to see her getting some nice work!

Not me. Not even my TV girlfriend could make me watch that show. I just don’t get it. Unless she plays some sort of uber-agent that counters Jack Bauer at every turn or something like that. I would watch her kick some Kiefer Sutherland ass. :smiley:

I loved season one, but couldn’t get into season 2 and haven’t bothered trying since

though I must say…I’m glad I was getting season one from netflix because I don’t think I could have stood waiting week from week between episodes on this

same thing with Lost, I came in just before season 4 started and I would have gone nuts with some of those cliffhangers

that’s how i felt about BG!! just started watching it winter 07/08 and caught up to the 4.0 season live - i don’t know how you all handled all those breaks!!
i agree 24 would have been great to see on dvd for the first time but as a huge kiefer fan i couldn’t wait. i’m not thrilled w/ the later seasons but i still watch it. hope katee will revive the show next year but i still think they should kill off jack already and either stop before it gets worse or continue w/ other characters.

I stopped watching ‘24’ after the thrid season, just same old-hat. But I’m interested now that Katee is involved.

it does look like they’re setting her up to be a bad guy

honestly though, how many times does CTU need to be infiltrated before the guy in HR that does all the hiring gets fired?

I’m a diehard ‘24’ fan. Have been from the first hour of the first season, so I am going to watch regardless. However, I will be very disappointed if she does not have a large role in the storyline for season 8.
