STAR WARS UNCUT, A crowd sourced remake of starwars

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ezeYJUz-84

This is amazing. The creator crowdsourced the re-creation of Star Wars: A New Hope from fans, but each contributor could only submit 15 seconds. It’s a combination of all sorts of animation styles, well made re-creations, home movies from kids, and off the wall craziness.

LOLed about 6 minutes into the video when this appeared on a wall:

I was looking at this last night- love the creativity!

a non-sff-geek friend of mine sent me this today w a note: “I watched the first 7 minutes. Got +50 nerdpoints. Have you seen yet?”

And of course the German F*ckers from the GEMA have disabled it due to their mothereffing system of asking horrendous sums for music rights and I can’t watch it!!!

Didn’t Thunderscreech submit to this a while back? I haven’t watched the whole thing yet but I wonder if his adaptation made it in.

Yup! All three of my submissions made it in, too.

In the Youtube link, my parts start at:
4:58 through 5:11
1:05:41 through 1:05:57
1:30:56 through 1:31:07

It was freakin’ fun!

Here ya go!

That is so cool!

OSSIM! Thx!

Paper plates, cardboard, tin foil, shaving cream and magic markers were harmed in the making of this film.

Well worth the ride. Packed with moments hysterical, nerdy, bizarre and inspired. Marlon Brando Jor-El doll as Ben Kenobi. A brief homage to Bergman’s The Seventh Seal. The trash compactor and attack on the death star sequences were great.

The quality of the Vimeo Quicktime download is high enough for transcoding to DVD - suitable for watch parties.

Just finished watching this and it was awesome. I’m amazed at the diversity of people who created these videos. Young, old… Droids of all colors and sizes. Brings a tear to my eye.
