Most of you probably are not aware about the Star Wars TV show Lucas has planned. With the Clone Wars movie coming out in ten days followed by the animated series in October it looks like production is starting on the new TV show. The scripts are starting to be written and there is news that the entire production will be in Sydney Australia.

The show will take place between ep.3 and ep.4. What has me excited is that I have heard in the past that Boba Fett will be featured in a number of the episodes.

That I’m looking forward to, but I’d really rather they did something like a show for EU or even Shadows of the Empire, Rogue Squadron, etc. I’m getting a little tired of all the prequil action (and I guess I’m a bit of a Luke/Solo twins fanboi)

The fact that this statement exists:

Interesting. This may sound funny, but I hope against all hope that there aren’t any Jedi.

Please let this be about a the formation of the Rebellion or a group of smugglers or something. But no Jedi. Please no Jedi.

I’m certainly looking forward to this more than the Clone Wars series, though.

I think a few Jedi on the run every once in a while would be fun. Like an episode where we see Boba Fett hunting a Jedi. I agree that a Jedi we follow around week to week would be lame. I’m more for the formation of the Rebellion as well. It would be really sweet if they had Jimmy Smits on the show as a regular.

I have heard that there is a plotline in The Force Unleashed that deals with the formation of the Rebellion. I don’t know what the plotline involves or how in depth it goes but Bail Organa and Princess Leia show up in the game based on what I’ve read about the game.

As for the live action show I’m not sure if I’m looking forward to it or not yet. Until I get some more details I can’t really make up my mind. I’ve heard that Boba Fett will probably appear but I’m not a big Fett fan. I am however looking forward to The Clone Wars because Captain Rex rocked in the novelization of the movie.

Am I evil (not with a capital E) for wanting something original??? I love some of the EU, and it might be cool to see some of that on the big screen, but there’s just something magical about NOT knowing…as in, when we all first saw (or many of us saw as children) ANH in the theaters…

Well that’s why Lucas has pretty much kept most of that time frame off limits until recently. He did the same thing with the prequels in the EU. The Clones Wars were off limits.

I too am looking forward to this show. From what i understand the new show will not feature any of the main characters. I think it would be cool if they made it so it was sort of like the Wire where it had a huge cast and lots of story lines, most of which were never even directly connected. I would love to see an Empire story line that may portray them as not completely evil. Maybe some one going into Stormtrooper or Tie fighter training because he or she has no other alternative and showing their dilemma. I would love to see more smugglers. The founding of the rebellion would be cool. And the occasional Jedi showing up would could work as well. They will have to exist because they are still being hunted during the time between ep 3 and 4. Maybe a Bobba Fett story arc of him hunting down a Jedi. Hell a Jedi could be a main character and be killed off. THere is nothing cooler then seeing a major character get killed off a show.

I think it might be kind of cool to see some of the Emperor’s Hands make an appearance or even Thrawn. It would be a great way to introduce some of the EU characters to those who don’t read the novels.

Catching up on SW news and there is some interesting details about the Screenwriters penning the first few episodes.

Gives me hope that the show won’t suffer from GL dialog.

I read some where on the star wars web site something about it being kinda like the sopranos, but with a far, far, away twist. I’m thinking black sun maybe.

That sounds like an interesting move. I’ve been out of touch with news of this project, since the last thing I’d heard were rumors that Lucas was hoping to hire some of BSG’s writers as soon as that show wrapped, something which doesn’t seem to have happened.
