Star Wars in everyday life

So i decided to run an experiment. On the ForceCast they have started doing a segment about Star Wars references in pop culture. I am going attempt to do that one better. I am going to attempt to keep track of Star Wars references in my everyday life as well as pop culture. I will keep a note book and anytime some one makes a SW reference on movie, tv, radio, etc. I will put it down. Then i want to compile them and run the statistics on what has the most references.

I will try and set some criteria. I wont count actual Star Wars movies, games, TV shows or books. Also I wont count direct Star Wars related podcasts, websites, or forum threads.

I will do it for one year. From Oct 6 '09 to Oct 6 '10.

Wow. Someone get a red shirt for Lister.

Hey no Trek references!!

Looking for the Kwisatz Haderach of Star Wars?

Kudos to you sir. This is a shiny endeavor.

I have my first entry already. Thank you Sean for quoting Obi Wan on this weeks Podcast.

I have a bad feeling about this… (he he he)

So I am adding another addeudm to my rules. I am not going to count multiple commercials or references.

ex. I just saw a Wal-Mart commercial that opens with a kid in a Darth Vader costume. I will only count that once. Well i might add another section for number of times referenced. Might add think on this a bit. Also i am not going to use peoples sigs in forums.

Good luck, Sir. If IFC ever shows a Kevin Smith marathon, I will inform and/or warn you.

Its been just over one week and i have encountered 30 unique references to Star Wars. I know i have missed some. There were some in Zombieland that i missed but will hopefully pick up on a second viewing. I have also not counted for multiple viewings of commercials that have Star Wars elements in them. This is gonna be tough. Whew

You really should watch Fanboys…

Already have many times. I am not counting things that i have already seen. But i loves that movie

Hope this helps your cause
