Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

love the shot with the lava plume

Actually, gray would have worked. It is entirely too black and white. One moment, Anakin is the hero and defender of justice. The next he is a completely different character.

If there was some explanation about the Dark side or midi-chlorians causing psychosis or something. Maybe.

When did he became evil (or was he already evil inside) before butchering them? When he found his dying mother? Or later, since the Clone Wars series play between Episode 2 and 3, so why can’t he perform “heroic” deeds then? And even in the Clone Wars series there are moments when he tortures someone or stabs someone in the back in cold blood.

WTF, Obi-Wan? You watch him slowly burning up and screaming in agony, and… you just walk away? Leave him to die in agony, immediately after your big “You were my brother!” diatribe?

But that’s OK, because you’re the good guy. From a certain point of view.

I’m sorry. I am being a wet Gungan.

Well, he is a monster. We’re all supposed to forget about the brother and stuff.

He may be like a brother to Obi-Wan, but Obi-Wan’s mission was to destroy him. :frowning:

Like him picking up Anakin’s lightsaber.

(well Anakin does tell him he hates him.)

Did Casilda go radio-silent due to Padme’s dying-without-a-cause??
EDIT: Scratch that!

Good effect to watch the smoke move when he takes his first breath in the suit.

you and badger are way ahead again. Obi-Wan just came back to the ship on the DVD version

I know I said this at the beginning but I really like how the ship silouettes echo the OT models

I forgot, did James Earl Jones reprise his role as Vader’s voice in this movie?

If the EU has ever done anything right, it’s filling in these kinds of grey areas.

Pretty much it seems to happen over the course of his conversation with Palpatine. He’s struggling with moral quandaries through the first half of the movie — when his friends and mentors should have helped him, BTW — and then suddenly, he’s full-on evil, for no apparent reason. :frowning:

When he found his dying mother? Or later, since the Clone Wars series play between Episode 2 and 3, so why can’t he perform “heroic” deeds then? And even in the Clone Wars series there are moments when he tortures someone or stabs someone in the back in cold blood.

Because the prequels have made Anakin the “hero” of the Star Wars franchise to a whole generation of kids. Knowing how he turns out makes that ethically questionable, at best. :frowning:

“for reasons we can’t explain… she has lost the will to live”
ugh.
and for all their force mojo they can’t figure out she’s expecting twins?
double ugh.

Well, I got behind before the big fight began, so I fast-forwarded a bit. Too much, eh? lol

and as my mother said when we saw this film at midnight opening day - here’s a scene to make girls terrified of childbirth. :frowning:

Yes. Yes he did.

Anakin’s not so pretty now :frowning:

I like the mask scene, though  and the breath. with the music, of course.

ah, the funeral music, as Darth Vader is “born.” Excellent choice.

Palpy, you lying bastard.

Then why not just kill him? Either to destroy the monster or to put your former friend out of his misery?

Yes.

Something that just occurred to me during this watching:

How did Palpatine know she was dead? Is it possible that HE killed her, using his Dark Side powers, even from such a great distance?

and for all their force mojo they can’t figure out she’s expecting twins?
double ugh.

The Force is so strong in those babies that maybe it blocked the scans, possibly?
