I just finished reading this article on MSN and thought I’d share it. I found it very interesting to see some one use star wars as an example of real life business pratices.
Well, while the errors of the Empire’s leadership style may seen obvious, and even comically incompetent, the entire setting of the empire was based on real powerful organizations, such as Japan and Germany during World War 2 and many other dictatorships. Sometimes these organizations become so powerful, they really could have overtaken the world. I really don’t think the downfall of such organizations are inevitable. I think we just so happens to live in an age where those kind of leadership failed catastrophically fairly recently. Though it’s certainly a good thing that such leadership ideology didn’t dominate the world. But I always seems to hear at least some people saying how a dictatorship or a totalitarian regime would run better than democracy, especially since China’s economy is doing so well after adopting capitalism without having to open up to democracy.
