Upon further thought - it’s more radical in that it posits that biology doesn’t change who one feels attracted to - just because Tieran now inhabits a female body doesn’t dictate desire. Gender truly is performative. 
Yeah, I really feel like Kes could have been a good character if they had just put a little more effort into her. And if she wasn’t defined as love interest du jour. :eyebrow:

TBH, I really don’t remember ever seeing this episode before. I know I’ve watched them all before, but huge swaths before 7 of 9 were just not memorable.
