Star Trek: Voyager 2x3 "Projections"

After coming up with this theme, Brannon Braga struck upon the idea of involving a character from Star Trek: The Next Generation in the story. Originally, however, this character was to have been Geordi La Forge. Braga recollected, “We came up with the idea of putting Geordi La Forge in there, but then I thought it would be much more fun to have Barclay and the doctor.”

I’m glad they chose Barclay.

It used to work with old TVs. Perhaps vacuum tubes got loose and when you hit it they settled better. Not to mention antennas and rabbit ears. shrug

You’re real, Alice. Welcome to the rabbit hole.

We all know Barclay’s holodeck issues. He is the better choice than Geordi.

Ha Ha. They re-played the scene from the pilot episode.

“Computer. Delete Paris.”

Love the self-satisfied grin.

Ultimately, Brannon Braga was highly pleased with how this episode depicted the relationship between Barclay and the Doctor, remarking afterwards, “Those two were so good together they should have a spin-off series.”

Great idea for a comedy.

Agreed. Barclay works well with Voyager throughout his appearances imo

You’re a holographic simulation inside a holographic simulation inside holographic simulation inside a holographic simulation.

ouch

And here people though Inception was original

Who’s right? How do you choose?

Aha!! Nicely played. calling Christopher Nolanahem Mr. Nolan, you’ve watched Star Trek. Haven’t you? Hmmm. Hmmmm.”

See now. I would trust Kes…not Chakotay. I would have been dead.

That radiation evilness is quite tricksy.

Barclay, testing interpersonal skills? Oh, my!

That bothers me. Why would Barclay manifest as the devil in the Doctor’s…um…subconscious?

It doesn’t make a lot of sense, to be honest. They retconned it in? But like I said before, I think overall Barclay’s a great addition in the episodes he’s in.

Frakes does do a good job directing

I agree. I guess Barclay symbolizes the Doctor’s subroutines to become self aware.

This is only my second time through Voyager and I have to admit I don’t remember the details very much - it’s almost like I’m watching again for the first time
