Yep.

Yep.
The Special Collector’s Edition DVD includes all the new scenes from the home video releases, and a few new minor changes to certain scenes and effects exclusive to this DVD.
* When Martia gets shot, a disruption sound effect is removed to make her scream more apparent. * There is a new wide shot of Scotty reading the blueprints of the Enterprise in the dining hall. * Valeris's interrogation scene has been entirely reedited. There are now close up shots of Kirk and McCoy when they speak their lines instead of being in wide shots. When Spock and Valeris name a particular conspirator, the face of that person briefly appears in a flashback like style.
I thought something was odd when Martia was shot.
That shot of Scotty was indeed wide… (Yes, I’m ashamed for saying that.)
Ok, this must be a new release I’ve never heard of.
edit: 2004 release. No wonder.
My funniest Star Trek Movie memory was when STTMP came out, I saw it the opening weekend. The first prints released were notoriously full of mistakes, the one I saw had a whopper.
It was during the famous drydock scene where Scotty is showing off the refitted Enterprise, during one of the panoramic shots the first thing I noticed was that the starfeild was missing. But what happened next caused the audience to gasp and then break into laughter, instead of the stars there was a modelmaker working on the drydock. The print they released was not only missing the matte, but it was probably test footage from when they were programing the multiple passes for the camera. So instead of a starfield we were treated to a 2000 foot man in space doing touchup on the dry dock.
It was priceless.
