is anyone else kinda wondering how they have a simple society, yet they have a probe that can do this kinda stuff to Picard’s mind and the enterprise doesn’t have the technology to sever the connection without hurting him?
Could be that they knew this was coming and focused on this approach to preserving the memory of their race, while the Federation’s R&D efforts aren’t as narrowly focused
Yes. It’s a great episode, though, so we don’t question it.
That makes sense. I say we go with that.
Engage!
Well, the link to his mind only lasted 20-25 minutes. (I think that’s what they tell him at the end, no?) Not a whole lot of time to figure out how to disconnect a technology they’d never before encountered.
“Computer freeze program.”
Yeah. I wish life came with that feature.
I like the new jacket style uniform. It’s snazzy.
The filthy tunic works too, I guess.
i’m still waiting to get that jacket for my admiral in Star Trek Online!
wow, picard starts getting some scraggily hair… lol
Not filthy, patterned!
It does. In the same situation, we’d say “pinch me” and assume it’s a dream.
Ah. Shabby chic, eh?
If only my life really was taking place inside a holodeck! There’s got to be something better going on out there!
ExacTly!
“I kept something hot for you.”
Yeah. I bet you did.
I wonder if there is a course at Starfleet about situations like this. When exploring strange new worlds, play along.
Transmitting voice data between communities has to wait until morning, and yet they have electronic door openers?
That’s some funky looking cookery.
Particularly if there are delicious food and attractive (wo)menfolk available.
Reminds me of Tatoonine. Not lavish environment but still tech around.
