Star Trek: The Next Generation 5x19 The First Duty

That’s a story I’d been interested in reading.

Oh, and BTW:

Locarno was the inspiration for Star Trek: Voyager’s Tom Paris. When the writers were trying to cast for the part, they could not find anyone that seemed to match Robert Duncan McNeill’s persona, so they eventually just asked him to read for the role, and he got the part. Reasons for not simply bringing back the Locarno character have varied; it may have been because they would have had to pay royalties to the writers of “The First Duty” during every episode of Voyager where Paris appeared. In interviews, the producers of Voyager claimed Locarno’s actions made him irredeemable, making redemption unbelievable for audiences. (TNG Season 5 DVD) McNeill himself has stated that, despite their apparent similarities, Locarno and Paris are two very different characters.

Yep.

The story for this episode was developed by Ronald D. Moore during the writing staff’s Mexican retreat in the Fall of 1991.

This Vulcan’s not buying this horsedung.

It’s not just Wesley, Geordi has similar precision in his estimations… and Worf… and other people too (besides Data :p)

And all those Cadet’s silently said “Oh Frak!”

Oh Beverly, you’re so naive.

Yeah. I knew that. So silly why they just didn’t keep it. The Redemption of Nick Locarno.

Seems like a lot of responsibily for Nick, being a Cadet and all.

That Vulcan doesn’t play. I can so see folks saying, “Oh crap you got Satelk for Federation Law. Oh boy. That class is brutal.”

But, would B’Elanna Torres and Nick Locarno… (spoilers!)

Ah, the moment of reckoning. Picard calls him out…

We have a long tradition of fanfic around these parts.

Of course it is. Dead kid. Who else could it be?

Sherlock Picard is afoot!

Why not? That could work. No?

I meant the creepy kind :stuck_out_tongue:

obnoxious child, playing on my ship

… tell us how you feel, Jean-Luc.

bwhahahahaha!

“I choose not to answer, sir.”
“You choose not to answer?”

Picard smash!

Damn, looks like Jean-Luc is getting ready to slap Wes.

That’s my speciality.
