I have fond memories of this episode because the Museum of Radio and Television was showing a Star Trek exhibit. They played the two parts of this episode on the big screen. I loved it!!
OSSIM scene between Worf and Picard!!
I like these Klingon episodes, but they all blend together in my memory. I forget which is which. That’ll make it fun to watch I suppose.
“Lies must be challeged.” Picard is so awesome.
All Klingon characters are wonderful but there is something really special about Gowron. Robert O’Reilly plays the part so well.
According to Michael Piller, the “Redemption” storyline was initially conceived as the cliffhanger for the third season, but was delayed for a year to make way for “The Best of Both Worlds”.
Not only dishonorable men, but dead ones as well.
Gowron’s eyes always creeped me out.
In 1991, former President Ronald Reagan visited the set during filming of this episode. After being introduced to several actors dressed in full Klingon warrior garb, Reagan was asked what he thought of the Klingons. “I like them,” he said. “They remind me of Congress.”
Ha Ha Ha…um whut? pssst He’s the President. Laugh. Ha Ha Ha.
“Women may not serve on the council.”
Somewhere Casilda just roared.
Brent Spiner and Ronald D. Moore recalled that during this visit, the ailing Gene Roddenberry dropped his cane, and the former President bent down to pick it up.
That’s interesting and sad at the same time.
Love the stare Gowron gives Worf in the turbolift.
This episode marks the 100th episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
It’s the creepy eyes. It doesn’t even require the costume.
“The Council knew.”
Love Gowron’s reaction there. It says so much. The burden of leadership and having enemies all around. Love that. Nice choice. Adds so much to the scene.
Is that Mar’tok in the background?
“Guess I could come down to that.”
It’s odd that Guinan mentions her bet with Captain Picard about making Worf laugh before he became a Lieutenant Commander, since Guinan made Worf laugh in the opening scene of “Yesterday’s Enterprise”, after Guinan said that there are some women aboard the Enterprise who might find him tame. She does, however, specifically mention that she has seen him laugh, and liked it.
I’m with you re Gowron’s eyes. Kinda a psycho look. Does he not blink?
“But I’ve heard Klingon belly-laughs that could curl your hair.”
I wonder if that works on Picard.
“…he’s gonna want to know what it’s like to be a Klingon.”
Worf wishes.
