Star Trek: The Next Generation 4x25 In Theory

Okay. Now I know for sure this aint an episode I’m gonna show my kids. Grusome floor death.

“Not this time, Will.”

Life imitating Art.

Picard taking Will’s job.

Stewart taking Frakes directing job.

or sumthin like that

Frakes to Director Picard “Let me stand up in that scene so I can remind the audience how frakking tall I am.”

So rare to get a female redshirt.

Not sure that that would have killed her instantly like that. All the really vital stuff was above the floor level.

So meta.

Kirk would just do it— no talk.

Love the vector graphics. Looks like the video game Asteroids!!

I prefer not to dwell on the subject, but thanks for further grossing me out.

And she should have been slumped over and there should have been blood. So much wrong with that scene.

At least it’s not Deanna.

I still don’t get why don’t have Data do this. He’s infinitely more capable of tracking the dark matter and inputting course changes than any human could be.

Weirdly it seems worse than ST TMP’s “They’re forming!!” (Transporter accident)

He’s not wearing a red shirt (sorry that was lame)

Enough!!!

Uh Oh I hate “We have to talk”.

That’s why I love the Riker advice scene. That’s exacT-ly what Kirk would have said to Data.

So true. He would have had them out of there in no time.

I don’t know. I still have nightmares about that scene. I was so young when I first saw it.

That’s usually when my male selective hearing turns on.

“Then I will delete the appropriate program”
Great line. And every one who has ever loved and lost (me included) immediately thinks “Yeah Data, I so wish I could do that too.” :o

That’s why I’m here. :stuck_out_tongue:

Not necessarily. I’d imagine that the parts of her body below the floor would meld seamlessly with the ship at a subatomic level. The blood there would be as well.

I’m thinking, though, that if the shock didn’t kill her instantaneously (as it would appear they’re implying), they could cut her upper torso free and fit her with a prosthesis. Or clone a lower torso. Or use the transporter trace to restore her.

What’s the point of having near-magical technology if you don’t use it?

So, you’ve got your WWJTK do right there, yes?

No way. That distorted scream still haunts me. That and Reba’s chorus.

LOL. I post a comment about how emotionally and universally relevant the final line of the episode is, and there you are going on with the gruesome death!! (Another slap for you).

Reba’s chorus, ya I’m with ya on that. Ugly skeletal disintegration death. Yikes.
