This is so eeire for a children’s show.
It’s a cartoon, why couldn’t they come up with a cool looking space suit instead of a ‘Force Field’?
There was no life on Earth 300 million years ago?
I’m sure there were some fish and amphibians who would disagree.
Easier to draw a line around the already made templates.
Seriously. OTOH, this was the era of HR Puff ‘n’ Stuff, so we were OK with eerie.
Then they’d have to draw spacesuits as well as people.
Animation was kept pretty economical back then.
It’s amazing that they got all the actors back (sans Koenig) to do the voices.
And Johnny Quest.
“It could be a ship’s log, or a warning…”
Or a recipe for muffins. Or Vogon poetry.
I’m so used to the really good looking animation that we have now. I remember back in the day when some cartoons would have long stretches of no animation, or have filmed a person’s lips instead of actually animating a talking mouth.
This is reminding me of the Interplay computer games made in the early 90s.

Those games were great fun.
Or Fezzik!
They were all out-of-work actors from a cancelled show. I’m sure they jumped at the chance to make some cash.
I loved Johnny Quest!
just got in. starving. must find food. I’ll join later if I haven’t passed out before then
Mr Kyle is actually James Doohan’s real voice.
Oh no! It’s Vincent Price from ‘Thriller’!
OOooo, automatic bridge defense system. That’s new.
This is the most Uhura talked for the whole ‘Original Series’
To be honest, the animation isn’t too bad considering the time it came out. These people at least have some facial expressions.
But what does God need with a starship?
They got the writers from the Original show, as well. Sam Peeples wrote this, also wrote ‘Where No Man Has Gone Before’.
