Star Trek Exhibition at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia May 16 to September 20, 2009
Maybe we need to plan a meet-up or something around this…
I need to make sure to send this to Mike P - I haven’t talked to him in a long time.
Plus with it being there all summer we have a lot of time to plan.
“Sit in Kirk’s original Captain’s chair.” ???!!!
Talos is already in the parking lot waiting for the doors to open.
There is a bit more info on Wiki re this tour. Looks very interesting!!
You know this is something I think you guys and the Talos’ could bring the kiddo’s to. Although you may want to drive at least to my house as there would be lots of train changes.
But either way I would love to go as a group - I think it would be fun. I wonder if the tour is going to NYC?
Road Trip! fraggle dance
Yay! Philly Meetup!
Yeah, maybe we can even convince some of the folks that are south of here to come up (you know like the Baltimore/DC group)
Sweet! It’s not sci-fi related, but I also really love the giant walk-through heart at the Franklin Institute.
Coincidently, I just heard about Bolt Bus. They operate from DC to Boston, and stop in Philly (wish I heard about them in time for the NE meetup, but oh well.)
A meetup sounds like fun. I havent been to the Franklin Institute since elementary school.
Well you are a step ahead of me - I haven’t been there. I grew up in Baltimore, so Franklin institute wasn’t tops on the list.
Awesome so we might actually get to meet the elusive Pike???
Armando’s met me already. It’s not as exciting as it may sound.
Let the twisting of arms begin!
Not sci-fi-related? Oh really?
Interesting. I must admit, these meetups have opened a whole new world (to me) of transportation options. I’m rather enjoying train travel, although I wish I could read the schedules without going comatose.
Looks like it is going to 40 different cites over the next 5 years:

It also looks like Philly may have the Next Gen Bridge, and not the Original Series Bridge.
Maybe it will be in Dallas next year and we could use that as one of the things to do at the annual meet-up.
