Consider this scene here. It’s a win-win (pun intended) for her. Either the Prophets reveal a major truth to the Emissary, or the strain removes a political enemy from her path. Either way, it works for her.

But does she set any of it in motion, or just take advantage of the situation? I go with the latter.

Truth be told, I didn’t the first watch through. Rewatching it later, without waiting weeks or months between episodes, they became a really powerful storytelling thread throughout the series that made this unique in all of Star Trek.

I’m not sure it has to be either-or. She’s working on several levels, all the time.

Yeah he’s lost his visions, but he kept his family.
