Star Trek: Deep Space Nine 3x02 The Search, Part II

“The Alpha Quadrant seems racked
with chaos. It could use some order.”

Odo has such an Alpha Quadrant-centric focus on what “family” is

I like emblems.

The Great Link is in some ways a very foreign society from how humanity works. but also something I think a lot of humanity aspires to, as well. huh.

Odo is thinking “Oh crap, they’re ALL family? I got to buy them ALL Christmas presents? That’s gonna cost a lot of money if money existed.”

What is that?

BTW, the Orion Nebula is only a little more than 1300 light years away from us, so it’s probably not remotely near the so-called Gamma Quadrant.

I wouldn’t want to swim in the Great Link. Founders pee in it.

The Dominion emblem

The Founders are made of pee! eek

This story is good in terms of following Star Trek Writer’s Guide rules: Every episode should have a sci-fi “action/adventure” story and a personal story—hopefully linked together.

Odo sleeps in a bucket - the same bucket he wizzes in!

House Atreides won’t be pleased that they stole their color scheme.

DIRECTED BY JONATHAN FRAKES!!! What?

This episode was directed by Jonathan Frakes… I like how the set up the racism early with the “solids”

So this is all just a holodeck simulation? Lame!

Well Hello, Admiral

Woot! Admiral Neycheyv gets around. I like her.

Featured in the Star Trek New Frontier novels. She’s got game.

message of peace and friendship, my ass.

quick question - have we all seen this before? (kantia?) I don’t want to inadvertently spoil
