Just to get this out there at the start:
Vedek (soon to be Kai) Winn’s rhetorical manipulation and political machinations are sadly still familiar in 2012.
Found this online a few minutes ago.
Looks much better than Vedek Winn’s “if you do X the Prophets will love you!” manipulative theology. (i prefer Bareil’s reply that the Prophets love unconditionally. harumph).
Sadly I’ve got to bow out for the evening. I wanted to be snarky about Winn (she really is a terrible terrible person in the end, isn’t she), but it will have to wait for another time.
Familiar? Except for the earrings, it’s almost identical.
AKA The Prophets exist outside of time and space and are probably only peripherally aware of the political machinations of Bajor, if at all.
