Makes sense. I perhaps remember things a bit better since I started my vast “watch all Star Trek episodes and movies before I finish my PhD” with… DS9.
Most Arabs on Star Trek are genetic supermen (spoiler alert)
I do enjoy the Quark/Odo banter.
Yep. Like Badger said…
So, seriously? DS9 was the first ever Star Trek you ever watched?
That really blows my mind.
Notice how the Cardassian design theme you see all over the Station is centered on Obtuse Angles. It’s an interesting look.
No, that honor goes to TNG on broadcast. But it’s the first one I watched systematically.
“Database services not available” translated to the 21st century, your ISP has no service today.
And when you watched TNG on broadcast, what kind of viewer were you?
Were you a totally obsessed geek (tape every one, watch 'em over and over), or just a casual viewer?
casual viewer… I was… 7? (I also didn’t watch a lot of TV growing up)
“Who’s in charge?”
“In joint operations like this… you are.”
“I can live with that arrangement.”
uh oh… that humanoid brain-map seems mighty suspicious…
Ha! I forget what an embryo you are.
When I was 7 years old TOS was in reruns and I probably watched some of it.
My mom recalls me being glued to the set watching Star Trek as a little kid.
That voice sounds suspiciously familiar.
I’d be more likely to be reading a book or building something or playing make-believe.
Oh, Julian. BE SUSPICIOUS.
It’s Batman. “Tell your friends about me. I’m Batman”.
“what if another entity shared the unused portion” and there we have the connection with the current podcast arc
Viewing history:
TOS: Watched syndicated re-runs @5pm and then once I got a VCR recorded the late night airings. I wore those tapes out.
TNG: Watched some first run episodes but mostly caught it on re-runs.
DS9: Same as TNG until the fourth season, where I met up with some other Star Trek fans. We would get together on Saturday night. Have some dinner and then watch the episode.
VOY: Watched the whole first run episodes as they aired.
ENT: Watched some first run episodes here and there.
Not to mention this crap about humanoids not using most of their brains.
That is not the way the brain works!
Yeah, I didn’t watch a huge amount of TV either. Limited choices on and my parents limited the time. In fact TV broke once and we went for two years with out one.
I played in my room with my actions figures and invented Firefly back in 1973
