OK. Everybody knows this was the first televised inter-racial kiss. Obviously this made a huge stink with the network so the suits requested some takes without the kiss and some from an angle where you couldn’t see the kiss. What you may not know is that Shatner kept messing up the takes where you can’t see the kiss so they had to use the take with the kiss.
Heard that from the dopest woman alive.
Of course, he was doing it on purpose, just to further cement his own place in history. 
Nichelle joked about that, as well. She said Bill just wanted to keep kissing her. I’ve read and watched so many Star Trek things I never remember where these references come from. I’m not sure if this tidbit of info was in a book or an interview.
I don’t blame him.

Alexander is really a great character here. it’s too bad he couldn’t have had a recurring role. I’ll bet if he was around in later Trek incarnations he would have been wonderful as a regular or semi regular
