I’m treating this like a whole new genre, so the Star Trek fanboy in me doesn’t ruin it. Visually looks amazing. Perhaps the Space Adventure is back.

i think that the Romulans are going to change history and the kirk we all know will have his universe erased in favor of this new one.
I think the TOS will be cannon… and so will this… due to changes in the timeline by Nero.

Tremendous. It looks like this movie will capture the epic scope that the earlier movies sometimes missed, mainly because they were stuck with lower budgets and conventional, TV-style filmmaking. I hope it also retains the reverence for the unknown and the sheer joy of exploration without having to make the characters too coy or blow things up to suit the younglings and the impatient in the audience.
Extra note: It looks like there’s a scene with Spock hugging Uhura, or possibly vice versa, like she threw herself on him for comfort in an emotional moment. Which makes him uncomfortable. That’s very cool, because there was always a little mentor/protege relationship hinted at between those two in the original series, and it never quite got fleshed out. If it’s here, that means there’s some bit of the old characters in the new movie that the new filmmakers have honored. And that makes me hopeful.
Start Trek Reimagined, looks like.

Speaking of Pike, as everybody probably knows by now, the character speaking to Kirk towards the start of the trailer - telling him about his father and encouraging him to go to the academy - is Capt. Pike. Does anybody know what the story of that character in the movie will be? If so, please pass along “cloaked” as a spoiler.
