In Trek the diplomats aren’t very diplomatic.
These societies could have plowed along just fine without any interference from Kirk and the Federation. They take that whole “explore strange new worlds” bit a little too literally.

Of course, Landru’s world has descended into chaos, and this one (and their enemy planet) are about to collapse into devastating warfare that will end their way of life. As Wrath of Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan! showed us, Kirk didn’t often follow up on his unilateral actions, so we never see how things turn out after the fact.
